About the Group
Tina Iler, LCSWR and Ruth Campbell, LCSW, Ph.D will be facilitating the group. Feel free to contact them outside of group hours at 845-532-2010 (Tina), and 845-255-5022 (Ruth) with any questions or group related concerns. Please give them 24 hours to return your call.
Tina or Ruth will call you to schedule an intake before the group begins. (Please have your insurance card available to clarify insurance eligibility when Tina or Ruth call to schedule the intake.) That intake will be about an hour long, and will include testing for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and attachment style. It is preferable (not mandatory) that you have your own individual therapist before the group begins so you be supported as the group progresses.
Participation in the group will be covered by your insurance. If you have a deductible or if you have a copay, you’ll be expected to pay at the time the group is held.
This group is the start of your EMDR treatment with Ruth Campbell, LCSW, Ph.D. The guidelines for beginning EMDR treatment after the group ends are: you must have successfully attended and participated in at least 5 group sessions before beginning your EMDR treatment with Ruth. EMDR treatment will proceed until your PTSD score indicates you no longer have trauma symptoms. Continuing trauma treatment beyond that point can be discussed.
Groundrules
1-Confidentiality is something to be maintained by group members which means
– what is said in the room, stays in the room (nothing talked about in the group will be shared with other people)
-your personal zoom space as well as the space of the facilitators will be confidential
2– if you share skills with your support network, do not use other’s group member’s names
3– as explained in your intake, Ruth and Tina are mandated reporters which means if you tell us you are abusing a child or intend to hurt yourself or somebody else, we will need to report that and confidentiality does not apply.
4- Five group sessions are ideally successfully attended in order to transition into individual EMDR treatment with Ruth.
5-No interrupting.
6-Be gentle with each other.
7-We can add ground rules later if we like.
8-No unsolicited medical advice for each other.
9-Be mindfulness of advice giving.
