Richard Coleman, LMSW

“Everybody has a real Self. Because of experiences, things can happen to that real Self which can cause pain. Psychotherapy is a means for overcoming and correcting that pain and allowing one’s real Self to flourish.”
Richard is currently a Staff Counselor with Connections Counseling PLLC. His specialties are: psychodynamic work, couples’ work using both Imago Relational Therapy and the Gottman approach to communication, intimacy and sex.
He received his MSW from Boston University School of Social Work in 2019 after long years of service in the mental health field. He has a broad background and training in psychology and in research methods, having graduated from New York University in psychology with a focus on research.
He is an approved trainer for the Office of Addiction Services and Supports and, since 2010, has co-presented webinars on clinical mental health and substance use disorder skills, counselor resilience, and couples’ work.
He, along with all the other Connections Counseling staff, is working remotely during the COVID-19 crisis.
